Purpose & Product

Purpose

The final task of this unit is to complete another CARP. The third CARP focuses on the virtual exchange project that you have planned in the previous tasks of this unit. You will now carry it out with your learners and at least one partner class. Make sure that you find a partner and organise this project well in advance. In M3U9T6, you have learnt about different partner finding platforms. You might also organise a VE project within your team and adapt a project that one of your team members has developed.

As your groups of children will be interacting and working together, be mindful of the school level of the potential partner/s, in order to ensure that the tasks you plan can be appropriate and engaging for everyone involved.

Product

A written outline of your classroom research project which includes:

  1. Research question, target task and data collection
  2. Information about your teaching and learning context
  3. Didactic and methodological considerations
  4. Task plan
  5. Bibliography and appendix

Plus

A group presentation by your team (25 minutes per tridem / 20 minutes per tandem; please make sure that each of you has approximately the same speaking time / 15 min individual) based on your classroom action research project, to be given at the next face-to-face meeting and supported by a six-page (at the most) handout for the audience.
